A Mosaic of Memories

The memories of my life
Are etched in my mind.

I play around with them
As pieces of a colorful puzzle
That interlock in infinite ways.

The happy ones with the sad.
The good ones with the bad.
The gray with the colourful.

They come together in a mosaic
More beautiful than any found
In the most majestic cathedral.

A tapestry more richly patterned
Then any woven in any cloister
Or pieced together in the richest patchwork.

I mix and I match.
I make sense of my history.

I hold each moment
Up against the light.

The opaque with the translucent.
The insignificant with the life-defining one.

I recast each memory
Found in the labyrinths of my mind.

All was good.
All was well.
All was as it should be.
