Baloch National Gathering Faces Severe Disruption by Pakistani Authorities

Gwadar, Balochistan, June 28 — The Baloch Yakjahti Committee has announced its Baloch National Gathering today in Gwadar, Balochistan. People from various cities have been preparing for the event, but their participation has faced significant obstacles.

Yesterday, Pakistani authorities blocked key highways from Quetta to Mastung, Karachi to Hub Chowki, Dera Ghazi Khan, Nushki, and Gwadar. These blockades were intended to prevent Baloch participants from attending the gathering. In response, demonstrators resisted and removed the containers that were obstructing the highways.

Pakistani military forces reportedly engaged in acts of harassment and intimidation against sympathizers of the Baloch Yakjahti Committee. They raided activists’ homes, contacted transport services, and issued live threats to participants.

A caravan organized by the Baloch Yakjahti Committee managed to remove blockades at Quetta Lakh Pass and proceeded to Mastung. There, they encountered severe brutality from the Pakistani military. Reports indicate that several people were killed, hundreds were injured, and vehicles had their tires punctured by the military.

Currently, members of the Baloch Yakjahti Committee are demonstrating on the Mastung highways to protest the military’s actions.

In a further escalation, the Deputy Commissioner of Gwadar has reportedly called for the elimination of Baloch Yakjahti Committee leader Dr. Mahrang Baloch. Gwadar is now under siege, and a crackdown against the Baloch Yakjahti Committee has commenced. The committee claims it is fighting for the protection of the Baloch nation, which they allege has faced genocide by Pakistani forces since 1948.

The Baloch Yakjahti Committee is calling on the international community to support the Baloch nation in their struggle.
